Lula’s Pathetic Poke at Trump: Brazil Pays Dearly for His Anti-American Tantrum

By Hotspoynews

While ordinary Brazilians scrape by under crushing taxes, runaway inflation, and a weak economy, President Lula da Silva is once again playing global revolutionary — this time jetting off to India and South Korea with his bloated (“Arca de Noé” ). Noah’s Ark circus of 10 ministers and 315 businessmen. The timing couldn’t be more insulting. Fresh off criticizing Trump’s “Board of Peace” as a personal power grab and calling the U.S. capture of Maduro an “unacceptable line,” Lula is now rejecting America’s critical minerals alliance outright — choosing instead to ink deals with India for the rare earths and lithium that Trump wants for U.S. security.

This isn’t smart diplomacy. It’s a sad, ego-driven provocation from a fading leftist who still thinks he can lecture the world’s superpower while Brazil’s pockets get picked.

The disadvantages are piling up fast, and they all land on the Brazilian people. By snubbing Trump’s minerals coalition — where Washington is pouring billions into secure supply chains — Lula is slamming the door on the best partner Brazil could have against Chinese dominance. Instead, he’s handing strategic leverage to India and keeping Brazil dangerously hooked on unpredictable Global South games. Result? Brazilian exporters already hammered by Trump’s tariffs (even after partial carve-outs for coffee and beef) face more pain, lost markets, and higher costs that trickle down to every family buying imported goods or losing jobs in factories.

The Asia trip itself is pure theater: a multimillion-real taxpayer-funded shopping spree for cronies in agribusiness, mining, and pharma, all while Lula postures against Washington. No wonder critics call it pathetic — an aging socialist desperately chasing relevance in BRICS photo-ops and AI summits, ignoring the real damage at home. Public services crumble, debt explodes, and now relations with our biggest trading partner outside China are poisoned by Lula’s reckless jabs.

Worse, this stunt risks fresh retaliation just as a White House visit was supposedly on the table. Trump doesn’t forget slights, and Brazil’s workers, farmers, and small businesses will feel the sting long after Lula’s luxury jets return. The old PT playbook never changes: preach independence, deliver dependence on the wrong allies, and stick the bill to the taxpayer.

Enough with this embarrassing anti-American circus. Brazil deserves leaders who put our economy and sovereignty first — not a president whose sad diplomatic adventures leave the nation weaker, poorer, and isolated from the one country that could actually help us thrive.

Fora essa provocação ridícula! Brazil first — not Lula’s leftist fantasies.
