Lula’s infamous diplomacy inaugurates a new modality of international relationship

Sending an ambassador to the inauguration is a desperate attempt by Lula to balance between his duties as a “companion” and the obvious problem of recognizing a clearly stolen election. Hence the institute of half-recognition.

Something tells me, however, that cleverness will swallow the smart one. The presence of the ambassador will not reduce the noise made by the comrades, who want much more than that, in addition to Maduro continuing to curse at the president. And, at the same time, sending a representative is, after all, recognizing the new government, there is no such thing as “half-recognition”, which will serve as proof that Lula’s appreciation of democratic processes only goes up to page 2. Trying to please everyone, you won’t please anyone.

This situation is reminiscent of the fiscal adjustment. Lula tries to please everyone by making a half-adjustment, and ends up displeasing everyone. Put a foot in each canoe, hoping for the best of both worlds. As each canoe goes to its side, Lula is having more and more difficulty balancing, until he falls into the water.
