Traitors Within: Leakers Betray America and Endanger Our Troops
By Hotspotnews
President Trump has once again exposed a dangerous rot inside our own government. In a recent statement, he revealed that sleazy leakers handed Iran advance notice of the severity of planned American strikes. These individuals did not simply gossip or score political points. They gave the enemy a clear heads-up, allowing Tehran to prepare and putting American lives at risk.
This is not a minor bureaucratic failure. It is sabotage. When sensitive operational details reach the hands of a regime that has spent decades chanting “Death to America,” the consequences are measured in blood and treasure. Iran was ready because someone inside our system decided their personal agenda mattered more than the safety of our service members and the success of the mission.
Trump correctly called these people out. “Leakers should be put in jail,” he said. “They should have to strengthen up the laws for leakers.” He went further, describing how the enemy learned of the attack’s severity through “leaks and sleaze bags… a lot of sleaze bags, leakers!” That language is not hyperbole. It matches the reality of an intelligence and defense bureaucracy that still contains holdovers from previous administrations who never accepted the results of the election and continue to undermine the current one.
How does the United States know this happened? As President and Commander-in-Chief, Trump has access to the full range of classified intelligence. The precise sources and methods remain properly protected for national-security reasons and are not laid out in public reporting. What is clear is that the conclusion rests on information available at the highest levels—whether through signals intelligence, analysis of Iranian preparations, human sources, or other means. Presidents do not make such serious accusations lightly. The fact that the details stay classified is itself a reminder of how carefully real intelligence must be guarded, and how damaging it is when that trust is broken by leakers.
These are not abstract policy disagreements. Leaking sensitive military information that benefits a hostile foreign power meets the definition of giving aid and comfort to the enemy. It erodes the element of surprise that is essential to any successful operation. It forces our commanders to waste time and resources on deception and damage control instead of focusing solely on the objective. And it signals to every adversary watching that America’s secrets are not secure.
The pattern is familiar. For years, selective leaks have been used as a political weapon against Republican administrations. What makes this episode especially galling is the timing and the target. We are dealing with a regime that sponsors terrorism, pursues nuclear weapons, and has American blood on its hands. Giving them any advantage is reckless at best and traitorous at worst.
The solution is straightforward and long overdue. Prosecute the leakers under existing statutes and, if necessary, strengthen those laws so that the penalty matches the harm. Remove every holdover still embedded in the Pentagon, the intelligence community, and the State Department who answers to the old regime rather than to the elected Commander-in-Chief. Loyalty to the Constitution and to the American people must be non-negotiable. Second chances have already been exhausted.
President Trump is right to demand a clean house. The American military cannot fight with one hand tied behind its back by internal saboteurs. The American people cannot trust institutions that treat national security as a partisan playground. And our enemies cannot be allowed to benefit from the disloyalty of those sworn to protect this country.
Jail the leakers. Fire the holdovers. Protect America. That is not radical. It is the minimum requirement of a government that takes its duty seriously.
