Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered the social media platform X owned by Elon Musk to pay a fine of 8.1 million Reais ($1.42 million) for noncompliance with judicial orders, according to a ruling made public today.

The decision was originated from a legal process  in 2024, which the court ordered X to take down a profile that allegedly had spread misinformation. Justice Noraes wanted the info on the profile and the same blocked. X declined to do it. Based on that, X was fined and it continues to be fined since it triggered a daily fine of 100,000 reais. It all boils down to a personal and not legal persecution. Elon Musk opened a lawsuit against Moraes along with Trump Social media, and Rumble. We all hope, all the overreaching by the Brazilian Supreme Court will be eradicated from Brazil, as an example that should never exist.
