China has voiced strong criticism over the recent decision by the United States to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry, through spokesperson Guo Jiakun, expressed deep concern over the move, emphasizing that climate change is a global challenge that requires collective action. “China is concerned about the US announcement to withdraw from the Paris Agreement,” said Guo Jiakun. “Climate change is a common challenge that all of humanity must face, and no country can avoid it or be left alone.
The spokesperson further highlighted China’s commitment to the agreement and its willingness to work with other nations to tackle climate change. “China will work with all parties to actively address the challenges of climate change,” Guo added. The US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement has been widely criticized by the international community, with many viewing it as a step backward in the global fight against climate change.
China, on the other hand, has reaffirmed its dedication to the agreement and its role as a reliable partner in global efforts to combat climate change.
As tensions between the US and China continue to simmer, Guo Jiakun also expressed hope for enhanced dialogue and cooperation between the two nations on trade and other issues.
“We hope that the United States and China will work together to promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of economic and trade relations between our countries,” he concluded.
