Brazilian Workers Revolt Against Chinese Manager’s Brutal Assault at Midea Factory – Another Symptom of Lula’s Dangerous Sellout to Beijing

By Hotspotnews – Pouso Alegre, MG – June 24, 2026

In a stark reminder of what unchecked foreign influence looks like on Brazilian soil, approximately 1,200 workers at the Chinese-owned Midea factory in Pouso Alegre shut down production on Tuesday, June 23, after a Brazilian quality control employee was physically assaulted by a Chinese manager. Reports confirm the victim was punched in the ribs and struck with a heavy rubber gasket used in refrigerator doors – an act of raw aggression that has ignited outrage across the region.10

Union representatives described additional claims of moral harassment and degrading working conditions under Chinese oversight. Workers crossed their arms in protest from the early morning shift, demanding justice and the immediate removal of the aggressor. The company issued a vague statement claiming the manager was “preventively suspended” pending an internal investigation – cold corporate speak that does little to address the deeper rot.

This is not an isolated workplace dispute. It is the predictable result of President Lula da Silva’s reckless “entreguismo” – the wholesale handover of Brazil’s sovereignty to Chinese interests. Under Lula’s watch, Chinese firms have flooded key sectors with investments, often bringing with them authoritarian management styles straight from the Communist Party playbook. Brazilian workers, once promised dignity and prosperity by leftist rhetoric, are now treated as disposable labor in their own country.

For years, conservatives have warned about the risks of dependency on Beijing. China does not invest out of charity; it seeks control – of resources, supply chains, and influence. Factories like Midea, producing appliances for Brazilian homes, should strengthen our economy. Instead, they expose our people to the same heavy-handed tactics Chinese managers have inflicted on workers in Africa and elsewhere. Videos from those nations show a pattern: beatings, humiliation, and zero regard for local dignity. Now it’s happening here.19

Where is the outrage from Brasília? Lula’s government, quick to lecture Brazilian businesses on labor rights and diversity quotas, remains silent on this foreign abuse. The Ministry of Labor, the unions aligned with the PT, and the so-called defenders of the working class have been exposed as enablers of this neo-colonialism. Brazilian sovereignty is not for sale, yet under this administration, it is being auctioned off piece by piece.

Governor Romeu Zema and local authorities in Minas Gerais must act decisively. Immediate deportation of the offending manager, a full independent investigation, and stricter oversight of foreign-operated factories are the bare minimum. Beyond that, Brazil needs a national reckoning: review all major Chinese investments for national security risks, enforce Brazilian labor laws without favoritism, and put “Brasil acima de tudo” into practice.

The workers in Pouso Alegre showed courage by standing up. Their protest is a wake-up call for the entire nation. If Lula and his allies continue down this path of dependency, more incidents like this will follow – eroding not just worker dignity, but Brazil’s very independence. Enough is enough. Patriots must demand accountability before it’s too late.
