America First Triumph: Rubio’s State Department Calls for the Dismantling of the Corrupt International Criminal Court By Hotspotnews

In a decisive move that reasserts American sovereignty and rejects globalist overreach, Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s State Department has welcomed Venezuela’s withdrawal from the International Criminal Court and issued a clear call for every nation still bound by the Rome Statute to follow suit. The message is unambiguous: it is time to dismantle the ICC.

The official statement celebrates the decision by interim Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez and her government to exit the court, praising their partnership in American-led efforts against what it correctly labels a “corrupt and worthless” institution. For years the ICC claimed to investigate Nicolás Maduro’s regime for crimes against the Venezuelan people. The result? Nothing. No accountability. No justice. Just bureaucratic theater while the Venezuelan people suffered.

Contrast that failure with results under President Trump’s leadership. Thanks to the courage of American service members and decisive executive action, Maduro is now facing real justice in a United States courtroom for the crimes he committed. American courts, not a politicized international body sitting in The Hague, delivered accountability.

The State Department’s critique of the ICC is devastating and accurate. The court has spent its resources investigating and charging citizens of nations that never submitted to its jurisdiction and that already possess competent, independent judicial systems. This is not justice. It is blatant overreach, political bias, and selective enforcement. The ICC is neither credible, independent, nor legitimate. It has repeatedly demonstrated a pattern of targeting American allies and Western interests while treating genuine dictatorships with kid gloves when it suits the ideological preferences of its bureaucracy.

The United States never ratified the Rome Statute for good reason. We refuse to surrender the sovereignty of our citizens or our service members to an unaccountable foreign tribunal. Now, under the Trump administration and Secretary Rubio, America is no longer content merely to stay outside the court. We are actively encouraging the free world to leave it behind.

Venezuela’s exit, coming after the removal of Maduro, marks a significant crack in the ICC’s legitimacy. Other nations that value self-determination over the empty prestige of membership in a failed experiment should take note. Sovereignty is not negotiable. Justice is best delivered by accountable national institutions, not by an international body that has proven itself both ineffective and ideologically captured.

This is America First foreign policy in action: rejecting failed multilateral institutions that undermine national independence, delivering results where globalist talk shops produce only press releases, and standing with partners who choose freedom and accountability over the theater of the Hague. The ICC’s days as a serious force should be numbered. Burn the globalist experiment to the ground and let sovereign nations reclaim the right to judge their own.
