Brazilian Tyrant Ignores U.S. Court, Faces Default Judgment in Free Speech Lawsuit from Rumble and Trump Media

    By Hotspotnews

In a bold stand for American sovereignty and the First Amendment, conservative platforms Rumble and Trump Media have taken decisive action against one of the most notorious censors in the Western Hemisphere. Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, the iron-fisted leftist enforcer behind Brazil’s escalating crackdown on dissenting voices, has failed to respond to a federal lawsuit filed against him in the United States. As a result, the companies have moved for a default judgment in Florida federal court, signaling that foreign judges cannot simply dictate terms to American soil without consequence.

The lawsuit, filed in February 2025, cuts to the heart of the matter: Moraes’ aggressive orders demanding the suspension of U.S.-based social media accounts represent an outrageous overreach. These directives bypass the First Amendment protections that safeguard political speech in America and ignore established U.S. legal channels for requesting user data. Instead of respecting borders and individual liberties, Moraes has wielded his power like a digital dictator, targeting conservatives, patriots, and anyone daring to challenge the globalist-left agenda—much like the Big Tech suppression American conservatives endured for years before platforms like Rumble and Truth Social emerged as beacons of free expression.

This isn’t just about one rogue judge. It’s a test case for whether unelected foreign officials can export their authoritarian tactics to the United States. Moraes has become a symbol of judicial activism run amok in Brazil, jailing opponents, ordering mass deplatforming, and silencing criticism of the establishment under the guise of “protecting democracy.” Sound familiar? It’s the same playbook used by left-wing elites worldwide who fear open debate and populist movements. President Trump’s enduring popularity and the rise of alternative media have exposed these tactics, and now American companies are fighting back.

Rumble and Trump Media’s legal team properly served Moraes via email after exhaustive but fruitless attempts through the Hague Convention. The 21-day deadline came and went with silence from the Brazilian justice—an arrogant snub that only strengthens the case for default. Brazil’s government has attempted a late intervention in the proceedings, but tellingly, they clarified they do not represent Moraes in his personal capacity. This leaves the judge exposed, highlighting the personal accountability that should apply to powerful figures who trample on rights.

Conservatives have long warned about the dangers of globalism eroding national sovereignty. From international climate accords that hamstring American energy independence to supranational courts undermining U.S. law, the pattern is clear: leftist institutions prioritize control over liberty. Moraes’ actions exemplify this threat, attempting to chill speech inside the United States from thousands of miles away. The lawsuit rightly argues that such foreign interference violates core American principles enshrined in our Constitution.

As this case advances, it offers a rare opportunity for U.S. courts to affirm that American platforms and American speech are not subject to the whims of foreign authoritarians. A default judgment would send a powerful message: the United States will not bow to censorship demands that undermine our freedoms. In an era where Big Government allies with Big Tech to silence opposition—whether in Brazil or at home—platforms like Rumble and Trump Media represent the fighting spirit of the America First movement.

The left’s outrage machines will no doubt decry this as “confrontational” or “undemocratic,” but patriots understand the stakes. Free speech isn’t a suggestion; it’s the bedrock of our republic. If foreign judges like Moraes believe they can target American companies and users with impunity, they are in for a rude awakening. This lawsuit isn’t just legal strategy—it’s a defense of Western civilization’s most cherished liberty against those who would rather rule by decree than debate in the open marketplace of ideas.
