The Recirculation of Lulinha’s Bank Data: Facts, Omissions, and Electoral Timing

    By Hotspotnews

On October 21, 2026, federal deputy and newly elected senator Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) posted a video under the caption “GLOBO escancarando os esquemas do LULINHA. Dia 25 vai dar Flávio 22.” The footage consists of animated graphics that match coverage originally aired and published by outlets including G1/Jornal Nacional and O Globo in early March 2026. Those reports were based on bank statements obtained by the CPMI (Comissão Parlamentar Mista de Inquérito) of the INSS after a judicially authorized breach of secrecy.

The underlying data, consistent across contemporaneous reporting by G1, Estadão, O Globo, and others, show that Fábio Luís Lula da Silva (Lulinha) conducted 1,531 transactions in a Banco do Brasil account between January 2022 and January 2026, with total inflows and outflows of approximately R$ 19.5 million. Credits totaled roughly R$ 9.77 million and debits R$ 9.75 million, producing a near-zero net balance. The largest single source of credits was redemptions from investment funds (about R$ 4.4 million). Additional inflows included transfers between Lulinha’s own accounts and credits from companies in which he holds stakes alongside his wife—primarily LLF Tech Participações and G4 Entretenimento—amounting to roughly R$ 3.2 million over the period. Three transfers from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, totaling about R$ 721,000 (one in July 2022 and two on 27 December 2023), also appear. Outflows include payments to former associates Jonas Leite Suassuna Filho (approximately R$ 704,000 across 17 transactions) and Kalil Bittar (approximately R$ 750,000 across 15 transactions).

These figures represent turnover rather than retained wealth or unexplained enrichment. High-volume business or investment activity routinely generates large gross flows that largely offset. Lulinha has long operated companies in technology, marketing, consulting, and related services; the reactivation or intensification of some of these entities after 2023 is documented in the same reports.

The broader context is the CPMI’s investigation into alleged frauds involving improper discounts on INSS retiree and pensioner benefits, centered on Antônio Carlos Camilo Antunes (“Careca do INSS”). Allegations circulated that Lulinha may have acted as a hidden partner or intermediary, but the bank-statement graphics themselves do not establish a direct link to those alleged schemes. Lulinha’s defense has repeatedly stated that the sources of income are legal and legitimate, citing advances of legitimate inheritance, reimbursement of expenses incurred during the period of Lula’s imprisonment, and ordinary business activity. The defense has also contested the legality and manner of the secrecy breach and subsequent public disclosure, noting that neither Lulinha nor his lawyers had access to the full documents at the time of the initial reports.

Gayer’s October 2026 post recycles the March graphics without the accompanying context of the defense’s explanations or the near-zero net flow. It frames the material as Globo “exposing schemes” and immediately ties it to the presidential runoff scheduled for 25 October, in which Flávio Bolsonaro (PL, number 22) faces Lula. Gayer, a longtime Bolsonaro ally who was elected to the Senate in the October first round, has used similar material in prior videos. The post therefore functions as campaign messaging that selectively highlights gross transaction volume while omitting material qualifications present in the original journalistic coverage.

Parliamentary inquiries and bank-secrecy breaches are legitimate tools when properly authorized and scoped. Public reporting of the resulting data is likewise ordinary. What the recirculation illustrates is the ease with which raw turnover figures can be detached from their explanatory context and redeployed months later for electoral effect. Whether the underlying transactions contain irregularities remains a question for investigators and courts; the graphics alone do not resolve it.

Sources: Contemporary reporting by G1 (Globo), Estadão, O Globo, CNN Brasil, and related outlets in March 2026 documenting the CPMI INSS materials; statements attributed to Lulinha’s defense in those reports; public posts and coverage confirming the 25 October 2026 presidential runoff context.
