The University of Central Florida and Dr. Phillips Charities have joined forces to organize the fourth yearly Crossroads Speaker Series at UCF Downtown. This series highlights the connection between business and philanthropy, showcasing discussions among business leaders who have a significant impact in their communities by addressing social issues through philanthropy and partnerships with non-profit organizations. This year, we are excited to welcome Daryl Holt, senior vice president and group general manager for EA Tiburon Studios and American Football, as our guest speaker. By collaborating with industry partners like Electronic Arts (EA), UCF Downtown enhances Central Florida’s talent pool and contributes to the area’s economic growth. Daryl will be joined by moderator Thad Seymour Jr., former acting president of UCF and current president of the Lake Nona Institute. The Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, UCF’s graduate program in game design, has been ranked as the top program in the world for four of the last five years. Moreover, the emergency management graduate program has been ranked as the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Crossroads is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, in room 106 of Dr. Phillips Academic Commons at the UCF Downtown campus. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is mandatory. Parking is accessible at the Parramore parking garage located at 316 N. Parramore Ave. Five years ago, with the backing of Dr. Phillips Charities, the largest private donation was made to establish the newly built UCF Downtown campus for UCF and Valencia College students. It is this strong foundation in industry collaboration that encouraged UCF to celebrate the campus’s fifth anniversary with the fourth annual Crossroads Speaker Series.
