Nathaniel and Seth Wade’s defense business in Orlando has received recognition in the past. However, a recent accolade for their information technology company Nighthawk Cyber holds a special significance for the two military veterans. Nighthawk Cyber was recently honored with a 2024 Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award from the U.S. Department of Labor. Nathaniel Wade expressed that the award validates the company’s commitment to assisting those who serve their country. “There is a deeper significance,” said Wade, a former Marine Corps member. “Veterans make great sacrifices for the nation, including their families. We are grateful for the recognition.” This is the first time that Nighthawk has received this award, but Wade acknowledges that there is more work to be done. He aims to pursue the platinum-level award from the Department of Labor next year. “I have instructed our team to understand the requirements for achieving that level annually,” he stated. “We will accomplish this by maintaining consistency and staying true to our principles and company values.” Nighthawk also recently received an Employer Award for its high level of veteran employment. The company has expanded its operations by hiring employees in Maryland to support U.S. Cybercommand. Established in 2021, Nighthawk is headquartered at UCF’s Business Incubation Program.
