The Orlando Buccaneers showcased an impressive performance in their final match at home in 2024, defeating Marumo Gallants 8-1 to secure a well-deserved three points. The second half at Orlando Stadium was filled with goals as the hosts claimed a crucial victory in the Betway Premiership.
Returning to league football, the Soweto Giants faced challenges and a strong first half from the visitors before achieving their biggest win of the season. They quickly took the lead in the match when Deon Hotto’s cross was converted into a goal by Kenneth Nthatheni.
Despite inclement weather causing a brief pause in the game, the Buccaneers scored again in the 10th minute through Relebohile Mofokeng, but the goal was disallowed for offside. The visitors managed to equalize with a goal from Gabadinho Mhango shortly after.
The second half saw the Buccaneers dominate, with Tshegofatso Mabasa scoring a hat-trick and Deano van Rooyen and Thalente Mbatha adding to the tally. Boitumelo Radiopane sealed the victory with a penalty kick, making it 8-1 for the hosts.
