The Final Injustice: Moraes Condemns Bolsonaro to Humiliation in Papudinha – An Act of Inhumane Political Vengeance
By Hotspotnews
It’s unbelievable the level of cruelty and revanchism that has overtaken the Brazilian judiciary. On this Thursday, January 15, 2026, Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, in yet another unilateral and hate-filled decision, ordered the immediate transfer of former President Jair Bolsonaro from the Federal Police Superintendency in Brasília to the so-called “Papudinha” – the State Major Room in the 19th Military Police Battalion, within the Papuda Penitentiary Complex.
Bolsonaro, a 70-year-old man with serious health issues – including inguinal hernia, chronic hiccups, and recent surgeries – is already serving a disproportionate 27-year sentence for an alleged coup plot in a process marred by controversies, lack of impartiality, and what many see as a judicial farce. He was at the Federal Police in an adapted cell with air conditioning, TV, and minimal conditions of dignity. Now, Moraes throws him into a prison environment, even if “special,” inside a notoriously precarious and overcrowded complex.
This isn’t justice. This is vindictive persecution. Moraes completely ignores the former president’s health status, medical recommendations, and the constitutional principle of human dignity. Bolsonaro has already undergone surgeries, falls in his cell, legitimate complaints about noise and isolation – and the response is to make it worse? Transferring him to Papudinha is a clear attempt to humiliate him, to turn him into a political trophy to satisfy a crowd that hates what he stands for.
Where is the humanity? Where is the respect for an elderly man who, right or wrong, was elected by millions of Brazilians? While common criminals get benefits, perks, and temporary releases, Bolsonaro – who never killed anyone, never stole public money – is treated like the worst monster. Papudinha may have a differentiated structure for former authorities, but it’s still part of the Brazilian prison system known for overcrowding, violence, and degrading conditions. Moraes knows this and sends him there anyway.
This decision is inhumane, anti-democratic, and shameful. It reveals how the Supreme Court, under Moraes’ baton, has become an instrument of personal power, score-settling, and silencing opponents. It’s not about law; it’s about hate. It’s not about security; it’s about humiliation.
Bolsonaro may be imprisoned, but what’s truly shackled is freedom of expression, the right to dissent, and the rule of law in Brazil. This transfer doesn’t strengthen democracy – it buries it deeper. It’s a sad day for the country, a day when vengeance triumphs over justice.
Enough silence! Enough complicity with this abuse! Bolsonaro deserves dignified conditions, and Brazil deserves an impartial judiciary. Moraes, stop playing dictator. The people are watching. And they won’t forget.
