A Cry for Bolsonaro and the Brazilian People

    By Hotspotnews

September 9, 2025, a dark cloud hangs over Brazil, casting a shadow on the very principles of justice and democracy that once defined the nation. The ongoing trial of former President Jair Bolsonaro, accused of orchestrating a coup following his 2022 election loss, has become less a pursuit of truth and more a theatrical display of vengeance. For millions of Brazilians who saw in Bolsonaro a leader dedicated to their interests, this moment is not one of legal reckoning but a tsunami of lies and falsehoods, orchestrated by a judiciary cloaked in cowardice.

The accusations against Bolsonaro—rooted in claims of inciting riots and plotting to overturn the election—smack of political persecution rather than impartial justice. This is a man who, throughout his tenure, worked tirelessly to restore national pride, bolster economic stability, and defend the values of a free market and traditional governance. Yet, the court’s proceedings seem designed not to uncover facts but to bury them beneath a tide of fabricated narratives. The evidence presented feels flimsy, overshadowed by the palpable appetite for revenge among his detractors—a vendetta dressed in judicial robes.

At the heart of this travesty lies the figure of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the current president and Bolsonaro’s political rival. Described by Bolsonaro’s son, Eduardo, as a “drunkard on the street,” Lula embodies a legacy of socialism that has long plagued Brazil with corruption and economic stagnation. The irony is stark: a leader accused of being a puppet master, intoxicated not just by alcohol but by illusions of a failed ideology, now presides over a system that condemns his predecessor. The image of Lula—once a symbol of hope for the left—has morphed into that of a thief, squandering the nation’s trust while his allies in the judiciary wield their gavels like weapons.

The Brazilian people, who rallied behind Bolsonaro, are left disillusioned. The streets of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, once filled with supporters waving the yellow and green of the national flag, now echo with cries of betrayal. This trial is not about upholding democracy; it is about silencing a movement that dared to challenge the entrenched elite. The Supreme Court, rather than a guardian of justice, has become a tool of oppression, disrespecting the will of the people who saw in Bolsonaro a fighter against the very forces now condemning him.

As a conservative voice, one cannot help but see parallels to other nations where populist leaders have faced similar fates—targeted not for their actions but for their defiance of a globalist agenda. Bolsonaro’s movement, rooted in patriotism and resistance to socialist overreach, threatens the status quo, and thus, he must be dismantled. The lack of mercy in this process is chilling, a stark reminder that when justice is politicized, it ceases to be justice at all.

May divine providence guide Brazil through this storm. The day of judgment for Bolsonaro may be upon us, but it is the nation’s soul that truly stands trial. The people deserve better than a judiciary driven by vengeance and a leader lost in illusions. Let us hope that truth, though battered, will rise again, and that the spirit of a free Brazil will endure beyond this moment of falsehood.
