Two seaside mansions on the island of Virgin Gorda, a sought-after enclave in the British Virgin Islands, are set to be auctioned off on December 20, 2024. The two adjacent properties, known as Red Rock Villa and Salt Spring Villa, were previously listed for nearly $5 million each, but will now be sold to the highest bidder without a minimum price.
The villas can be purchased individually or together, based on the preference of potential buyers. Platinum Luxury Auctions, a real estate auction company based in Miami, is overseeing the sale in collaboration with Christie’s International Real Estate British Virgin Islands, represented by agent Bernadette George.
Platinum’s founder and president, Trayor Lesnock, expressed excitement about partnering with Christie’s brokerage once again, following a successful auction in Grand Cayman earlier in the year. The two companies joined forces in 2023 to offer luxury agents in the Caribbean access to Platinum’s auction platform.
Each villa sits on approximately half an acre of land, with beautiful landscaping for added privacy. Salt Spring Villa boasts 3,807 square feet of indoor space and 3,286 square feet of outdoor living area, featuring four bedrooms, four full baths, and three half-baths. Red Rock Villa is slightly smaller, with 2,400 square feet indoors, 2,657 square feet outdoors, two bedrooms, two full baths, and one half-bath.
Built in 2011-2012 by the same owner using imported European materials, the properties are structurally sound, withstood Caribbean hurricanes, and would be costly and time-consuming to replicate. Both villas offer top-of-the-line features, including gourmet kitchens, spa rooms, open loft spaces, and stunning pools with ocean views.
Located in the exclusive Princess Quarters community, the properties count former professional baseball player Jayson Werth and Myrna Colley Lee, ex-wife of actor Morgan Freeman, among their neighbors. This auction marks Platinum’s return to Virgin Gorda after a successful sale of Villa Katsura for nearly $14 million.
Private viewings of the villas are available by appointment until the auction date. For more information, interested parties can contact Platinum’s project manager, Walter Cerini, at 800.939.1672 or visit the auction website for details.
